We offer stud service to approved females.  Our Stud Fee is $500 and is due at the time of the breeding. If an arrangement is made for a pick of litter puppy in lieu of a stud fee, that arrangement will be made ahead of time and a signed statement will be signed for the agreement prior to the breedings.  Approved females must have acceptable temperaments (not shy or aggressive and must be approachable).  A weak tempered dog will not be allowed stud service to any of our males.  Approved females must have a current brucellosis test and must have some form of hip certification (OFA, PENNHIP or "a" stamp), an indication of NO DYSPLASIA must be confirmed on the report.  Approved females must be presented with a copy of their registration certificate, pedigree and hip certification.  Owners of females to be bred to a SureFire stud dog must sign a statement that no offspring from a resulting litter may be sold to anyone who has the intent to breed to a wolf or wolf hybrid.

We prefer that you bring your female to us BEFORE she is in standing heat and that she stay with us the entire time she is in standing heat.  When these conditions are met, we will sign a statement that your female has been bred to the stud dog of your choice and that no other males have been allowed near her.  A fee of $5 per day will be charged for each day the female is left here for the breedings.  Initially, we will put the female with the male every day, in the late evenings.  Your female will be watched during the first few days to ensure an actual breeding is witnessed.  After the female is in standing heat and the first breeding has occurred, she will be left with the male the entire time to breed at will, and you will be called when she is no longer standing for the male.   If the female is left here for the breedings, the stud fee is due when you pick up your female.

If you bring your female to us for each breeding, you will be required to pay the stud fee at the time of the first breeding.  It is up to you whether or not you bring your female back for more breedings during her standing heat.  You are welcome to bring your female every other day until she is no longer standing for the male.  If you bring your female to us already in standing heat, or if you bring your female to us for the breedings only and take her back home in between the breedings, you must sign a statement that the female has been in your care during the entire heat cycle and that you witnessed the breeding of her and our stud on the date(s) and time(s) here at SureFire.

A signed litter registration form will be given to you once the stud fee is paid and not before.  Electronic signing of the Litter Registration through email, will be allowed - but again, only after the stud fee is paid.  For those arrangements of choosing a puppy in lieu of stud fee, the stud fee can either be paid at the time of the breeding and then be reimbursed back to you when we pick up our puppy (to allow you to go ahead and register the litter), or you can wait to register the litter after we get our puppy, in which case we will sign the litter registration when we pick up our puppy.  You must sign an agreement to promise us our puppy papers once they are mailed to you.

If SureFire decides to take a puppy in lieu of stud service, we will pick our puppy at 6 weeks of age and not before.  No puppies should be reserved to other parties until AFTER we choose our puppy.  If you have someone wanting to visit and choose a puppy prior to our choosing at 6 weeks of age, have them choose a first and second choice in case we choose the same puppy.  We will physically pick up our puppy at 7 weeks of age (8 weeks of age if shipping is necessary).  The entire litter should be vet checked at 6 weeks of age to rule out heart murmurs, umbilical hernias, overshot or undershot bites, and other health conditions PRIOR to our arrival to choose our puppy.  Documentation of the Health Exam should be provided to us when we come to pick out our puppy.

Please make sure that you are breeding your female for the right reasons.  Do not breed your female if you are not seriously trying to better the breed.  You are responsible for every puppy produced by your planned breeding, make sure you are prepared for that responsibility.  Breeding a female and raising a litter of puppies takes a lot of time and a lot of work.  Do not breed for a litter thinking that you will make a profit on the sale of the puppies.  After all is said and done, you will be lucky to break even on your expenses, so make sure you are financially prepared to properly care for the puppies until they are placed in their new homes.

We are happy to answer any questions about what is involved in raising a litter of puppies and we will help you in finding homes for your puppies, by referring puppy buyers that contact us, to you.
